Our Complicated Parents - PART 2

This is based on a true story. You can see what the movie is about here.  Personally, watching the whole movie in one sitting does make me emotionally unstable and tired. I mean, yeaaa sure, I know it's really damn hard to be successful.But to actually go through all the hard and dirty work is really harder than it seems. Imagine you have to sleep with your son in a public restroom and not being able to live life with your torn dignity. But the man stood up and held his head high for his own son.

One and only one quote from the movie that really awakens me. 

"You got a dream, you gotta protect it. People can't do something themselves, they wanna tell you that you can't do it. You want something? Go get it. Period" - Chris Gardner

It's the scene where the dad told his son that his son should play a lil lesser and focus on his studies in spite of his dream of becoming a basketball player. 

Then the son made this sad face and threw the ball away like.. Dammit, who's stupid enough to go studying if he's really good in basketball? 

...or, something like that. So that's where the quote belongs. 

The reason I said the dad was complicated was because, he's the one to tell his son to stop playing basketball. But the moment he saw the disappointment on his son's face, he threw the witty lines that made his son smiled again.

You see, parents are like that. They want us to be happy but in order to do that, they mess with our emotions first.
